Framgångarna fortsätter för Mamma Mia! - The Movie världen över. Största musikalfilmen i Storbritannien, bästa öppningsveckan någonsin för en musikalfilm i USA och i Sverige springer folk till biograferna och ser filmen. Filmen har satt nytt rekord för Universal i Sverige med flest biobesökare första veckan: 225.000. Men något av det roligaste som har hänt för ett fan av ABBA upptäckte jag nu ikväll. Denna vecka klättrar nämligen Gold upp från sjätte till första platsen på den amerikanska Billboardlistan Top Pop Catalog efter 443 veckor på listan. Albumet har redan sålt över 6 miljoner i USA och det lär bli några fler album till. Det verkar också som albumet kommer in på ordinarie albumlistan också.
Den enda etta ABBA har haft i USA tidigare är Dancing Queen som på våren 1977 lyckades nå första platsen på Billboards singellista. Därför är det här rätt stort i jämförelse! Soundtracket till filmen blev sjua förra veckan på Billboard, en placering som ABBA aldrig lyckades få. Bästa placering något album fick under de aktiva åren var The Album som nådde 14:e plats 18/2 1978. Övriga topp 20 album i USA: Super Trouper (17, 13/12 1980), Voulez-Vous (19, 7/7 1979) samt Arrival (20, 22/1 1977). Gold blev som bäst nr. 63 på Billboard 9/10 1993.
Gold är ABBA:s - och ett av världens - mest sålda album med över 27 miljoner exemplar hittills.
